And on the other they are also in the spotlight with the innovative masterpiece that is COREX®: the two-stage smelting reduction process invented by VAI and currently the only such process enjoying industrial success in which pig iron can be manufactured using non-coked coal and iron ore. Further innovative processes such as FINEX® and FINMET® clearly support their claim to the title of innovation leader. With MIDREX® , we are bound together in a cooperation, which involves a jointly developed process model in the form of SIMELTCIS SIMPAX.

From the extension to the furnace cycle through the increase in process stability up to the reduction in total energy consumption, the joint Siemens VAI solutions are utilizing all the competitive levers.
